Welcome to A Drawing A Day! This project started out a bit differently with the idea of creating a drawing every single day for one year. But rain storms happen and carpets get pulled from under our feet. So I decided to modify the concept. The rule is pretty simple: all drawings must take no longer than a day to create and the project will culminate when I hit 365 drawings.

It's been quite a while since I've posted a drawing. But I'm still at it! I recently moved from one state to another and have been transitioning to new work, grad apps, and city life. Here's a drawing inspired by my eldest niece who I endearingly call my silly bunny.

I've been binging on The Walking Dead and other horror movies recently. So it's no surprise elements of those stories are starting to creep into my lines. :)

It's been a while since I've drawn a proper portrait. While this doesn't look exactly like the sitter, I'm happy to have gotten the opportunity to draw him. I call this his alter ego, Tito.

I got this idea for a portrait with peppers stuffed in someone's mouth while riding the train yesterday and starting off into space. Only now while browsing did I realize it's reminiscent (but not really) of Matthew Barney's Cremaster. It's interesting how most ideas are not original at all. We share a collective memory of a collective life.

It had been some time since I drew a portrait in person. While studying, my friend let me draw him which I thought would provide a good and steady pose. But I forgot how much one actually moves around when reading and taking notes. Ha! Never the less it was a fun drawing.

I had an impromptu drawing session today, drawing on my friend, Kirsten's journal cover. It's a portrait of her dog, Bailey. Turns out he dislocated a disc so it's especially meaningful today. Wishing a quick recovery for this cute pup!
