There are some things that are best left unsaid if nothing else will sprout from it. But it's nice to take a new meaning and make it your own. Happy Thursday!

I drew this in exchange for a lovely library lamp. For inspiration I went through the owner's Pinterest and was happy to learn of his eclectic taste but most of all to discover the history of plague doctors who wore crow masks. Took a few tries to execute a chola plague doctor but I feel this is a decent launching point. Will revisit the theme in the future.

I took to a larger paper today and stretched out my lines. It was a time to abstract ideas I was holding on to as too precious a thing.

Today is feeling lovely and balanced and in flight. Hence the drawing from today. Happy hump day!

This is a failed attempt and I wasn't going to post it. However, I had to remind myself that part of the purpose of this project is to not stop the process because a drawing doesn't come out perfect or in the way I envisioned. The point is to accept things that I produce and allowing them to exist at least in documentation here if nothing else. So I'm letting this drawing go and thinking upward and onward.

Started thinking about nurture versus nature and emotions versus logic. Sometimes it feels like we push one out of the way in order to attain an intangible desire.

A minimalist drawing sprouted a pig and a brain. I'd like to say I know why. In any case, happy Friday!

Day 97
I found this beautiful photograph by Matthieu Paley of a man drinking salty yak milk tea. This is my illustrative take on the image.

I used an imprint from the previous drawing as a base here. Since I have felt pretty restrained by my head as of late I'm leaning toward more brusque strokes. Inspired by constellations I drew with my eyes closed, voyages I dream of taking, and colors I yearn for this Spring. Happy Friday!

After watching Lulu Miller's Creative Morning's talk I decided to take on some of her tips. You can say this is my brain yodeling to the paper and I'm glad it happened. When I started the drawing I was too attached to the original photograph I had found. Now you can see traces of this initial drawing but it's more like a trail a mouse would leave in the snow.

Inspired by land formations and molten lava, an abstraction came to be.

A few things impeded me from keeping up with the drawings for a while. However, instead of seizing completely I've decided to extend the date and simply finish 365 drawings. So all in all I'm back on track as it were. This is an abstract piece I played with using gouache and ink.

I felt like playing with some reduction.

It's hard to get away from all of the images of Ebola patients. It's especially sad when you see the kids that have been hit by the disease. This is a composite drawing of a couple of those images.

I got an urge to draw a set of 'hands' that may have sprouted from something more like a ginger root.

A wanderer spin-off of sorts. I like to think they're finally building a floating home for themselves.
