It's been quite a while since I've posted a drawing. But I'm still at it! I recently moved from one state to another and have been transitioning to new work, grad apps, and city life. Here's a drawing inspired by my eldest niece who I endearingly call my silly bunny.

These past few weeks I've been overthinking what to draw and when it was ok to share, forgetting the whole point of this project. But I'm hopping back on the wagon with this night time doodle.

I've been binging on The Walking Dead and other horror movies recently. So it's no surprise elements of those stories are starting to creep into my lines. :)

This started as a portrait of my brother but soon after starting, I realized it was going to work. So I went for a brain storming drawing instead.

I started drawing this with the initial two words of "blazing doughnut." It transformed into something creature like in the end. :)

A year ago I started combining the brain and heart to create a singular organ. I'm sure this has been interpreted in one way or another many times, but I've grown attached to the image and its symbolism for my own reasons. Mainly I'm drawn to the balance we struggle with between reason and emotion, logic and madness, love as something magical and intangible while at once being something practical and controlled by chemicals in our brain. I'm still exploring this and am excited to see what bubbles up.

It's tricky to know what to write about along with these drawings at times. Frankly, sometimes it takes me a while to figure out why I did something.

I drew this in exchange for a lovely library lamp. For inspiration I went through the owner's Pinterest and was happy to learn of his eclectic taste but most of all to discover the history of plague doctors who wore crow masks. Took a few tries to execute a chola plague doctor but I feel this is a decent launching point. Will revisit the theme in the future.

I don't know why I felt like combining these bones and organs together today but here they are. To me it looks like a skeleton cheer leader. :)

I took to a larger paper today and stretched out my lines. It was a time to abstract ideas I was holding on to as too precious a thing.

This is a failed attempt and I wasn't going to post it. However, I had to remind myself that part of the purpose of this project is to not stop the process because a drawing doesn't come out perfect or in the way I envisioned. The point is to accept things that I produce and allowing them to exist at least in documentation here if nothing else. So I'm letting this drawing go and thinking upward and onward.

I haven't drawn Ely in a while so I decided to stylize him. Tempted to call this Ely's Infinite Rump.

Started thinking about nurture versus nature and emotions versus logic. Sometimes it feels like we push one out of the way in order to attain an intangible desire.
