I've been binging on The Walking Dead and other horror movies recently. So it's no surprise elements of those stories are starting to creep into my lines. :)

Inspired by Ciril Jazbec's beautiful portrait of a girl fishing in Uummannaq , Greenland. I expanded a bit and see the explorer in her.

Stumbled on a photograph of Syrian refugees crossing water on a raft toward Greece. Still amazes me to see people's grit and determination in seeking a safe haven, a shelter from the past. This is such a heavy and layered situation. I hope everyone can find a place of their own.

A veces nos sentimos tan frágil como una hormiguita solitaria y es difícil tomar la belleza y amor alrededor de nosotros. No es para uno de afuera juzgar lo que siente esa hormiga pero si es posible, porque no acompañarle durante esa tormenta.

There are some things that are best left unsaid if nothing else will sprout from it. But it's nice to take a new meaning and make it your own. Happy Thursday!

I drew this in exchange for a lovely library lamp. For inspiration I went through the owner's Pinterest and was happy to learn of his eclectic taste but most of all to discover the history of plague doctors who wore crow masks. Took a few tries to execute a chola plague doctor but I feel this is a decent launching point. Will revisit the theme in the future.

I had to draw this striking Swedish crofter I found through the Commons. Splashing ink mixed with color pencil is definitely becoming my favorite combo. Happy Thursday!

I used an imprint from the previous drawing as a base here. Since I have felt pretty restrained by my head as of late I'm leaning toward more brusque strokes. Inspired by constellations I drew with my eyes closed, voyages I dream of taking, and colors I yearn for this Spring. Happy Friday!

After watching Lulu Miller's Creative Morning's talk I decided to take on some of her tips. You can say this is my brain yodeling to the paper and I'm glad it happened. When I started the drawing I was too attached to the original photograph I had found. Now you can see traces of this initial drawing but it's more like a trail a mouse would leave in the snow.
Read MoreI've been reading Haruki Murakami's new book, "Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage" and this style of drawing came to mind. The feet maybe came to be because I've been running a lot- not sure. This was a fun drawing to get things going again.
